Happy Holidays!

After we survived the windiest trip up the gorge that I can remember, we had a great Thanksgiving (I’ll get some pictures posted up soon!) at Grandma Thompson’s. It’s always nice to be able to see the aunts and uncles and dad’s and grandmas. The kids all had fun taking turns holding little cousin Spencer, Sam’s newest baby boy. Hailey was a popular little girl as well, and everybody was impressed with what a well behaved little lady she was.

After we got home and cleaned up inside a little we decorated the inside of our house for Christmas. It’s looking quite festive in here! (I’ll get some pictures posted up soon!)

We got a good nights rest and started working on the outside yesterday. Jack Jr. went to Thornton’s tree farm with us again and picked out the perfect tree again. This year we picked out a “Fraser” tree instead of a Noble. The underside of the pine needles have a white coat on them, making them somewhat reflective in the light.

Our front yard looks gorgeous, but the outside of the house itself is only half done. We’ll finish the rest of the outside today while it’s light out.

Happy Holidays!

No Dice, but we carved some awesome pumpkins!

Well, it appears the people at KUFO are deaf, they chose a (IMHO) poor rendition of Spongebob Square Pants over my Jetallica song, but at least I have my studio all setup now and ready to pump out some more tunes! I’m VERY excited about that! Look for some Christmas tunes from me soon!

Thanks so much for the support and encouraging words everybody!

On the Halloween side, we carved our pumpkins today! Tracie did an awesome bat carving, I (With Melissa’s awesome help) carved a ghost into a tall and slender pumpkin of mine, Cody carved Kevin as a vampire (Even has his glasses on and fangs!) Casey did a really cool skull! Melissa did Moon and Stars for Hailey and a cool looking Cat for hers! Kevin did a vampire as well!

We have quite the assortment of pumpkin faces this time! Happy Halloween is just around the corner! :)

The local radio station KUFO is having a contest where listeners submit a TV Theme Song recorded in the style of Metallica.

I picked The Jetson’s theme and here it is!

Jetallica Theme!

Wish me luck!

Housework done!

What a busy week+ it’s been! We got two bedrooms painted and two bedrooms swapped around, and a mountain of laundry cleaned, folded and put away! I even managed to dislodge half a Carl’s Jr. cheeseburger from Casie’s throat and save her life! (That’ll teach Cody to leave a cheeseburger on his bed…)

We’re all extremely exhausted and enjoying our first night off in quite some time. We watched “Failure to Launch” (With Cathy Bates and Matthew Mcconaughey) which was a very cute and funny feel-good movie. Perfect for when you want to smile and feel all warm inside. ;)

I’ve got part of my garage back as well, and even have my woodworking bench and a computer desk to work on projects in the garage! Next will be working on my music computer and finishing up my music room. It’s been over a year and a half, it’s time to get-er done! Oh… and at some point in the near future we’ll be *cringe* painting the main bathroom upstairs! At least by then our arms won’t be all rubbery from all the painting we’ve done lately.

Calgon, come clean my house…

Remember those old soap commercials where the house was a mess and going crazy with activity, and the mom would exclaim “Calgon, take me away!” then sink into a bubble bath? The heck with that, Calgon can just come clean my house thanks. :)

We reconstructed Casey and Cody’s bunk bed and did some minor cleanup around the house yesterday, today we’re jumping in full force. Kevin’s room is prepared for painting, and we’ve got a bunch of laundry to wash, fold and put away, as well as the random house “Stuff” to find homes for on one drawer/closet or another.

I feel a little more rested today than I have in previous months after our monthly downtime at work. (This is the fun ritual of going in to work at around 11:00pm one Saturday each month to patch our network servers and reboot them without impacting our users.) I actually managed to get home by 2:00am.. yay!

At Noon Ralph and some friends are coming over so we can load my hot tub into the truck and take it over to his place. Oh how I dread moving that hot tub!

At some point this morning me and the boys have to hit the Mall to get our hair cut, and assemble my Build-A-Bear that I got for my Birthday!

Congratulations to Jackie and the Grizzlies for winning their 3rd football game of the season 27-6 yesterday as well!
