Weekend recap

This week has been so busy that it’s taken two days to get the time to recap the weekend!

Superbowl weekend didn’t mean much at the Thompson household except that Skyview had an amazing and huge Superbowl party/circus thing. (They even had a wild animal show with cobras and rattle snakes!) In the lower gym they had a Karaoke section, a rubber mechanical bull, inflatable climbable walls and other bouncy-jumpy things. They had a video game room with an XBox 360 and the game “Rock Star” and a half dozen other console systems. There were two fooseball tables in play. In the upper gym they had an inflatable tug-o-war thing setup where you hooked two people by the waist and they tried to drag each other through this inflated tube thing, while people took turns trying to kick a football through a mini-goalpost to see how NFL they are.

In the cafeteria they were giving out FREE nachos (Not tiny plates either!) with chili and (Pretty good sized) bags of chips and soda pop and ice cream. (I think hot dogs too), While people sat around the tables and ate they could watch the superbowl on a 60″ projection screen TV. The big attraction however, was the 40′ wide theater screen they had in the auditorium with full surround sound filled to capacity with football fans. All in all there must have been about 400-500 people there. Kayla took Melissa, Casey and Cody there at the beginning. I didn’t know just how big a deal it was until I joined them about two hours later.

Kevin was gone assisting with the Founders Revel along with Nathan. Ralph, Denise, Russell and Deana all autocrat/feast-o-crat/cook/worked to make it happen, and rumor has it they pulled off another great one. (Poor guy over exerted himself helping though and came home with some bad chest pain and difficulty breathing. I ran him to the Emergency Room after his athsma inhaler didn’t phase it and they took a chest Xray and poked him lots. They came to the conclusion that he strained the chest-wall muscles. 800 mgs of motrin later he was feeling much better. (Of course, mama suggested Motrin earlier and Kevin said no lol.)

I picked up another copy of Mechassault for some more Multi player linkable XBox games, but nobody was around this weekend that really cared about that kinda goofiness so maybe weekend after next. (Assuming I don’t have to work this weekend and we get to go to our Cathy-Friends!)

Work has been insane with this new Windows XP Embedded upgrade we’re rolling out. If we don’t get it smoothed out today and tomorrow, we’ll be working over the weekend. ARG!
