So this is all the buzz around here right now: Heritage High prayer group students suspended
This is Kevin’s school…. and of course it has students arguing with each other and has caused quite some division.
Christian Groups as far away as Florida are freaking out over the ordeal (one supposedly connected with Jerry Falwell — See this article in the Columbian) and are trying to get involved.
Personally I feel a group, no matter what the group is, should follow the rules. If they are blocking entry ways, which several students claim they were, there’s a problem and the school tried to address the problem. They ignored what they were offered. They ignored the warnings, and they added a stranger to the mix who refused to identify themself. So I feel the suspensions should stand. If this was a glee club group there wouldn’t be this kinda hoopla about it. And you should see the comments posted on the Columbian article. Apparently some of these people feel the students that complained are satanists….
I just want school to go back to normal for my child…
