Jack ‘n Tracie

We had an incredibly emotional and crazy week. It was one heck of a roller coaster ride. But our week ended amazingly.

First, I’d like to introduce the newest member of our extended family:

William was born to Ralph and Denise at 5:22 AM on March 2nd, 2007 weighing in at 8 lbs 15 ounces of cuteness. We got to see and hold him, and OMG he’s such an adorable, healthy, sweet baby!

Congratulations, Ralph and Denise!!!Our week also ended with Casey being a Hero. Jackie had to choose a hero to write about at his school, and he chose Casey. This is what he wrote (spelling corrections made by me):

Casey, a brother to me, a hero to all. He is the biggest supporter of every action that I make. He is also a true hero and everyone who gets the privilege to be helped by this amazing 8 year old.

One fact that proves he’s cheering is whenever I come over to my father’s house every other weekend he says to me, “Hey Jackie? How was your day? Now I’m level 34 on EverQuest 2 and it only took me 12 hours to get there”. He always has some news to tell me that cheers me up.

Another good quality about Casey is he never gives up and I admire that. During testing time he’ll never doubt his ability and does his best. Even when he does badly on a test he knows he did his best and that satisfies enough.

Have you ever wanted to blow up because life is way too stressful? Well good thing I have Casey to calm me down. When homework is frustrating and life is terrible, Casey will say, “Jackie lets go shoot some hoops and blow off some steam”. That’s the best thing about Casey is that he’s compassionate.

To be a hero, a person doesn’t need to have all these qualities or have a super power. A hero is someone who cares and fights for what’s right. Casey, an 8 year old brown-eyed kid is my hero. Casey lives in a two story house with two brothers, one dad, one mom, one sister. Somehow he goes to school, hangs out with friends, and amazingly he still has time to be the best hero known to man.

Casey got to go to Jackie’s school yesterday while Jackie explained why Casey was his hero. He came home with big gold star necklace around his neck that said “I’m a Hero!”. It made Casey’s day.
