Today…
Happy 6th Birthday, Cody!
Read his birth story here.
Can you believe our BABY is 6 years old?!?
4 Days
That’s all it took to sell our house. It went on the market Monday March 19th, late afternoon. We received an offer Friday March 23rd. After going back and forth with counter offers, we have entered into mutual acceptance as of yesterday afternoon. If all goes well, we’ll close on April 23rd.
In a buyer’s market, that’s pretty amazing.
Pet Food Recall
I’m not normally up this late. Nor do I watch the news much. But tonight Jack has to call in for a conference call at work to push an update to the hospital computers so I sat and flipped through the channels. A story on the news about recalled pet food caught my attention.
I watched as they showed a poor old cat dying of kidney failure all because of the food her owner gave her. Then they explained there was a recall on several brands of wet dog and cat food. They gave a website:
I was shocked to see the brand we buy for our dogs and cats was on the list! I called the hot line and they took some information from me. They asked if my animals were sick. They aren’t. They told me to stop feeding it to our dogs and return the food to the store we bought it from to get a refund.
It’s ONLY the wet food, not dry foods or dry biscuits. Fortunately we only feed our dogs/cats the wet food as a treat from time to time and it’s not part of their regular daily diet. You may want to check out if the food you feed your animals is on the list. It’s a pretty large list..

The end is near…
How is everyone??? We’re truckin’ along here. Jack’s on-call this week and it hasn’t been nice to him. Thankfully with another guy in the rotation he only has to do this every eight weeks.
We got the old house painted and the carpets cleaned. It looks like a totally different house! Having the carpets professionally cleaned was amazing. I didn’t think it would come that clean! It looks almost brand new again. There are a few stains here and there still that will never come out. I asked the carpet cleaner dude why we could never get it that clean after the many attempts at renting carpet cleaners, and even buying our own steam cleaner. He said those things actually make the carpet worse because they push the dirt further into the carpet which means it comes back out eventually. Makes sense.
The paint choice was “Latte” as stronly suggested by our realtor. I’m not thrilled with it in the living room. But it looks good everywhere else. It’s an odd color. It’s a grey’ish brown that looks almost purple in some light. Very strange. But it covered the messy cheap white that was there originally and it gave the house a much-needed face lift.
Today we’re going to get the last of our stuff. We have the wood shed and all the firewood, and some stuff in the garage. We have some last minute cleaning and fixing up to do then it will go on the market monday.
Wish us luck!
Speaking of luck…
