A Happier Update
That last update was a downer for sure but was pretty accurate for the time. I’m sorry for how down it was, but I was feeling pretty raw.
Yesterday and today things are looking much better. My mom was in an extreme amount of pain yesterday morning after the surgery. So bad she was saying she just wanted to die. But then it got better. I’m not sure what changed, but I’m not complaining! By the time I left her last night to go home (to my Aunt’s), she was sooooo much better. She was joking with us and her color was back.. it was good to see!
She even stood up twice. That was a huge ordeal. She’s been flat for 3 days and it was scary for her and extremely painful. Baby steps is what we’re telling her. The fact that she sat up, and stood up 2 times (for seconds each time) less than 24 hours after the spinal fusion surgery is awesome. (Even though I totally was NOT impressed with the PT’s…)
