Jack ‘n Tracie

I’m finally getting to go to California to meet *everyone* at my job! I’ll be leaving April 18th and coming back April 25th. My flight is already booked. I leave Portland early Tuesday morning and will arrive at the Ontario airport in California around 10:35 am, then I’ll be flying back to Portland the following Tuesday evening.

The only catch is I’m going alone. So Jack won’t be with me. I’m sad about that and kinda… well… scared! It means I’ll be traveling/flying alone and I’ve never done that! Not outside bus trips from Coos Bay, OR to Portland, OR which is a bit different than flying to another state far away from my whole family.

But it should be fun and a really good opportunity for me. The reason for it? I’m sorta getting another promotion… My boss is moving up and basically the “assistant” may be dropped from my title. Nothing is set in stone yet but he wants me to feel out “MY” assistant (that’s how he worded it). Which is crazy! But cool and fun and exciting all at the same time.

He’s also going to be sending me home with my own IP phone and I’ll be getting my own extension, so it’ll be like I’m right there in the office phone-wise. They can just dial my extension and get me. It will also allow me access to their phone system and I can talk to customers, too.

I’m so excited and nervous. My stomach is in knots over all of this. Happy, excited, nervous, scared, elated, all at the same time. It’s also going to be hard to be away from my family for a full week.
