Dukes of Hazzard Movie

OMG what a horrible, awful, disappointing, waste of time this flick was. If you enjoyed the Dukes of Hazzard years ago, this movie will only tick you off.

First, Burt Reynolds as Boss Hogg? I thought that was a strange match for the love-to-hate overweight Hogg, but figured since it was Burt, it’d be ok. I guess good ole’ Burt is desperate these days. He was awkward, and flat out annoying trying to portray Boss Hogg. Bleh. Bo and Luke Duke were portrayed as nothing more than a couple of hicks with no brains, no class, no.. point. Willie Nelson as Uncle Jessie? I can’t even describe how disgusted I was with his performance.

And just what the HELL were they thinking casting Jessica Simpson as Daisy Duke?? First of all, Daisy was NOT a blonde. So making Daisy a blonde was insulting. (Obviously I have nothing against blondes, being one myself, but… DAISY WAS NOT BLONDE!) Second, Jessica Simpson is nowhere near as pretty as Catherine Bach was as Daisy. Jessica basically portrayed a dumb blonde bimbo in the 2005 Dukes of Hazzard movie, which Daisy Duke was NOT in the TV show.

I have no idea who the actors were that played Enos and Rosco P. Coltrane… they weren’t even remotely funny.

This movie was so bad I had to devote an entire entry to it to warn you. Even if this movie was trying to be a spoof, it was nothing but crap. Don’t waste your time!

  1. That pretty much sums it up. No Southern Hospitality, no charm, nothing. It would have been a better remake of the movie Deliverance.

  2. it was all about the car man

  3. Yeah… too bad the car didn’t drive itself like Herby the Love Bug.

That movie woulda been much better without people.
