Weekend Update
So I didn’t work on my first official weekend off. Outside checking a few forums posts, I was good!
Melissa went with her cousin to stay the night at grandma’s house, and Katherine had a school project to do at home so she only stayed Friday night. Nathan came and spent the weekend with us so we had a house full of boys: Kevin, Nathan, Lil Jack, Casey, and Cody.
Saturday we took Jack to the Portland Boat show (which we could care less about but the boys got to take home life jackets at least) to see the famous Rupert from Survivor Pearl Islands and Survivor All Stars. Then shopping at Costco (I’m addicted to Costco!). Then we went to the video store to let Kevin and Nathan pick out a game. Jack and I picked out Bewitched and Dukes of Hazaard to watch. Betwitched was cute. I give it 3 stars. Haven’t had time to watch Dukes yet.
We also stopped by Home Depot and picked up a new pantry for our garage. One with doors we can put a lock on. No more having stuff fall off the shelves anymore!
Sunday we took took the boys to see King Kong. It was a bit scarier than I thought it would be and Cody didn’t like it. He says he prefers the cartoon. I liked the movie overall, but do not recommend it for little ones. It had a PG-13 rating. But I feel the horror and violence in this movie was worth an R rating. There wasn’t any foul language or nudity but some of the violence would bother a 13 year old I’d think, as it bothered me and even *I* had to close my eyes a few times. (Cody and I hid our eyes together through a lot of scenes and one scene in particular bothered JACK!) If it had an R rating, I wouldn’t have taken Cody…
Overall my weekend flew by but it was soooo nice having two days off with my family. I’m gonna like these new hours.

I am so happy for you that you now have weekends off. As much as you enjoy being a mother, it’ll be great to have that time with your family.
