Mother’s Day

I hope all the moms had a wonderful mother’s day!

Mine was nice. The day started with breakfast in bed made by Jack. Then I was showered with gifts. Casey made me a pretty bead necklace and a pretty picture of a plant where his hand prints made up the leaves on the plant. Melissa wrote me a beautiful letter written in neat and careful cursive writing (she’s developing beautiful handwriting!) and gave me a bead necklace she made.

Jack and the kids gave me black pearls:
1. The collector’s edition DVD of one of my favorite movies, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.
2. A beautiful pair of breath-taking Tahitian black pearl and diamond earrings.
3. A matching diamond and Tahitian black pearl necklace.

I can honestly say I’ve never considered black pearls before. I don’t think I’ve ever even seen one. But these are absolutely gorgeous and unique and I think I found my new favorite jewelry.

We watched most of the extras on the DVD (there was tons of stuff) and then the movie itself, took a short nap after, then went out to dinner. It was a nice day. I’m spoiled.

My mother did not have such a good mother’s day. I tried to get a hold of her a few times yesterday, but figured since she wasn’t home and not answering her call, she’s was out celebrating. Not so. Bob’s back in the hospital and has been intubated again. She woke up to him being confused and disoriented so she took him into the doctor’s where they admitted him, then had to move him to ICU, where they intubated him. His carbon dioxide levels were bad and since he was confused and out-of-it, he fought their treatments, so that’s why they had to intubate him.

There is still no real answer to why he’s having spells and falls… and my siblings and I are urging my mother to get a second or third opinion about what is really going on. Keep him in your thoughts if you could…
