He’s 4!
Today is Cody’s birthday. I don’t have time to make a special graphic but wanted to at least say Happy Birthday to my special 4 year old!!
And here’s a few Codyisms from today:
1. “Mom, when you take a shower, your hair explodes, did you know that?”
2. “Mom, don’t ever smell like a skunk because it’s disgusting.” (Hope he wasn’t implying anything…. lol!)
3. (as he’s sitting behind me examining my exploded hair) “Mom, I have a new friend.”
Me: Really? Who?
Cody: “she’s right here!” (and he gives me a hug.) awwww
Ya gotta love his personality.
Also wanted to mention that Katherine got accepted into the Vancouver School of Arts and Academics!!! This is a great opportunity for her and something not everyone can get into. This is where she’ll go to high school starting next year. Congratulations, Katherine! We’re very proud of you!
Easter/Birthday
We had a great easter. It was wet… rained all day, which was a far cry from last year when we were all outside in shorts. But it was all good.
Since Cody’s birthday is on Wednesday, my mom had some birthday gifts to give him. So he got to open those yesterday. (Jack and I will celebrate Cody’s birthday on his actual birthday).

Happy Easter!
Time Flies…
I swear I just posted on this thing a couple days ago and then I look at the date and there’s been no posts for nine days. ?? wow.
We’ve just been busy busy. Last weekend we spent the whole weekend working on the yard. We’re doing a bunch of re-landscaping the front, and once that’s done we’ll be doing the backyard. I never realized how big our front yard was till we started removing things. We would have liked to do more this weekend but it’s raining. Don’t get me wrong though. That’s a good thing. Rain is something we haven’t had near enough of the past year or so. 
Cathy came to visit us the beginning of the week too. We had fun. We got to go out to lunch and talked, talked, and talked some more. I missed her 5 minutes after she left. 
I’m starting to get bummed out about working Saturdays. I’ve been doing it for a year now.. (that’s right.. I’ve been at my job a year already on the 29th of this month.. time freakin’ flies!!) It’s hard on us because Jack has weekends off and I work every weekend. So we never plan anything. Any family outtings always have to be on Sundays. And it’s almost impossible to plan a weekend getaway unless I have lots of time to find someone to cover my shift. And even then, it’s not always possible to find someone to cover for me.
I love the job, lots. And I will *not* be quitting over this. I’m just bummed out that I don’t have the same days off that my family does. And the one and only time I brought it up to my boss she wasn’t willing to discuss it and made it clear how much I’m needed on Saturdays.
Anyway… I can’t believe Easter is next weekend. It’s too early this year. I hope the weather clears up so we can be outside like last year. On the other hand, we need the rain.
