Update on Bob

Bob’s still in Hermiston. He now has a staph infection and pneumonia… and they said it could be caused from being on the tube so long?? They kept saying they were transporting him and that’s why they left the tube in so long… ugh!!

My poor mom is such a wreck. The first time she called she was in tears because she just wants him to be transported here. But they keep saying there’s no beds available. She threw a fit and said what if this had happened locally? They would’ve turned him away? Not.

I called Jack to see if he could pull some strings at SWMC in Vancouver but they are so full they are on the verge of having to ship patients to Seattle!

But then she called back and said they got him a bed in Beaverton at St. Vincent’s… and they’ll be flying both him and her tonight. Thank God!!!

It’s been nerve-wracking to sit here and not be able to do anything since he is so far away…

She said they also did a CAT scan this morning and it came back normal.. so that’s good news at least. The staph/pneumonia is not.
