Prayer Request for Bob
Hi,
I know this site hasn’t been much fun to come to lately, with the lack of updates and depressing posts, but such is life sometimes, ya know?
My stepdad (Bob) is in a hospital in Hermiston, Oregon in a coma with a breathing tube.
Sunday his plans were to take a bus to Pendleton to meet his mother, then drive her from there to Portland (in her car) so she could have surgery, then drive her back and take a bus home.
Sunday he got on the bus heading to Pendleton, but never arrived. He was having some problems that morning and wasn’t feeling well but my mom and him attributed it to the back pain he was having. (He has a ruptured something in his back. I can’t remember the exact word, sorry.) My mom suggested he take his oxygen tank on the bus anyway and he was supposed to set that up to see if it helped. Anyway, sometime on the bus, he passed out due to lack of oxygen. No one knows how long he was out. Other passengers probably thought he was sleeping.
When they discovered he couldn’t be woke up, they took him by ambulance to the hospital, where they had to intubate him (breathing tube). He’s since been in a coma (partially drug induced due to the tube) and could have permanent brain damage. We have to wait and see.
My brother drove my mom to Hermiston to be with him. He’s in ICU. They may transport him to a Portland hospital today.
