2004 Recap

So, I did this last year and wanted to do it again this year. Here’s the recap of our year (a bit late).
January 2004
We started the year with snow, which turned to ice, and had one of the nastiest ice storms I have witnessed since I was a child. Jack got to rescue computers from [...]

Bob is home! :)

Bob is home and doing well. He bounced back very very fast, physically. Mentally took a bit longer as he was distorted and confused about what happened. Oxygen depravation and being in a coma for a week definitely takes a toll on the brain. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.
This weekend we had a mild [...]

Good news after all!

… As soon as I posted the last entry, my mom called me and told me they woke him up and pulled out the breathing tube and he’s breathing on his own!
This morning when I talked to her, they were talking tracheotomy, and were grim. They went from that to pulling out the tube and [...]

Not good

My stepdad isn’t doing good. They doctors/nurses are starting to say stuff like “if he recovers” rather than “when”.
They tried to wean him off the breathing tube. He couldn’t breath on his own. His infections have gotten worse, his blood pressure is low, he’s got a fever, etc. They are discussing doing a tracheotomy. [...]

Back in Portland…

I just talked to my brother. They flew my mom and Bob by small aircraft to Portland last night and he’s now at a local (well, not exactly LOCAL but closer than 300 miles away!) hospital. I haven’t spoken with my mom yet. James said she went home last night and crashed, so I hope [...]

Update on Bob

Bob’s still in Hermiston. He now has a staph infection and pneumonia… and they said it could be caused from being on the tube so long?? They kept saying they were transporting him and that’s why they left the tube in so long… ugh!!
My poor mom is such a wreck. The first time she [...]

Congrats, Kevin!

Bob update

This was an email I sent to Jack that I meant to post here:
1. James can stay as long as needed. (He drove my mom to be with Bob on Monday) His work is being very understanding and told him he could take off as much time as needed so we don’t have to worry [...]

Prayer Request for Bob

Hi,
I know this site hasn’t been much fun to come to lately, with the lack of updates and depressing posts, but such is life sometimes, ya know?
My stepdad (Bob) is in a hospital in Hermiston, Oregon in a coma with a breathing tube.
Sunday his plans were to take a bus to Pendleton to meet [...]
