Bonneville
Today I looked outside and sarcastically thought to myself, “how odd, it’s raining”. This triggered a memory of Jack and I driving down the road in my old Pontiac Bonneville in the rain and AC/DC came on the radio and we’d look at each other and say, “how odd, it’s raining and KUFO is playing AC/DC”. We’d giggle at the sarcasm. The rain and AC/DC on the radio were just a given back then.
I miss that Bonneville and how much fun we had in it. As well as how much trouble we got in it.
Jack and I have a fair share of funny car stories. But the Bonneville, as ugly and disfunctional (in a lot of ways) as it was, will always bring back good memories. Jack loved that car. So so ugly and rusted, but the ride was as smooth as butter. I remember him driving over speed bumps like they were nothing or he’d take a shortcut over the divider in the middle of the road to get home. That’s something we wouldn’t dream of doing in any other car (unless it was a four wheel drive truck, lol).
I’m glad we have nicer cars now that are more reliable, but I’m also glad we went through a period in our life that we had crappy cars because it’s the stuff memories are made of. I guess I’m just feeling nostalgic on this cold and rainy holiday night.
One thing I miss about working full time is not having the time to share random thoughts in my head on our sites. But I had a minute this afternoon.

What a pretty new backdrop!
Ahhhh the Bonneville… and the sheer lack of responsibility to the world back then.
