Weekend Update

We had the most awesome weekend. ‘Cept I forgot the camera. ::sigh::

We decided to take the kids to the Salmon Street Springs Fountain. Here’s a picture I found:

We forgot that at Waterfront park The Bite of Oregon was going on. So we went to that too. My mom usually works at these and I was wondering if we’d run into her. I felt it was not likely. But sure enough, we did. And she was working for the Willamette Valley Vineyard booth. Of course.

Here’s a bit of history on that… one day several years ago, my mom and stepbob were out taking a long drive and they came across a sign about this new Vineyard opening near Forest Grove, so they checked it out. They’ve been hooked ever since. My mom works for them on some weekends, at booths at fairs and events, or at the vineyard helping with wine tasting events. Oh, and the best part. If we go to one of these things when she’s working… we get free wine.

The kids were very happy to see their Grandma and she even put Jack to work loading a case of wine into her car. And after a day of fun in the sun (and fountain) and good food to eat and wine to drink, we headed home exhausted.

This weekend? Well, it’s our anniversary. It’s a special one too. This year marks our 10th year together. And our 5th wedding anniversary. We were going to go out of town but instead we decided to stay in town, go to the day spa for a full day of spoiling, then a dinner cruise on the Portland Spirit.
