We’re Home!

We had a blast! We got there late Friday night and finished setting up camp. Ralph and Denise graciously took Jack’s and my tent, as well as Jason’s to the camp site and set them up earlier in the day.

We got dressed into some garb and went for a walk. There wasn’t much going on, so we came back to camp and went to bed early. Jason stayed out till dawn.

The next morning after breakfast we headed off to merchant’s row and Jack bought me a gorgeous dress! Jack picked up some ratan and a basket to make a sword. After lunch we headed to watch the battle between The Kingdom of the West (California) and The Kingdom of An Tir (Oregon/Washington/Canada and parts of Idaho). The sun was out and the weather was gorgeous.

After dinner the party began. Jack drank, and then he drank some more. And then some more. I did too. So did Jason and Ralph. We walked, we talked, we sang, we laughed, then we crashed. Jason stayed out till dawn.

Sunday wasn’t quite as fun for Jack. The sun and alcohol caused him to be severely dehydrated so we spent most of the day helping him feel better. A trip to Wal*Mart for towels (I forgot to bring towels!), and a trip to the neighboring campground for a shower, then a trip to Denny’s for lunch cured him for the most part. Another night of festivities began.

We walked, we talked, we sang, we laughed, then we crashed. Jason stayed out till dawn.

This event was nothing like the last An Tir / West War we went to. At our first An Tir West War there were thousands of people! (Literally!) At this one, there were hundreds. So there wasn’t as much to see nor the variety of activities. Overall we had a blast though and will definitely do it again.

Oh heck, don’t take my word for it, check out the PICTURES!
