Updates
I really need to do better about updating this thing… but being a full time working mom now, it can be hard. Especially since my job requires that I sit at my computer all day. By the time I’m off work, this is basically the last place I want to be, lol. I’ve got a new layout and possibly even a new program for this site. The graphical layout is nice (another one I have been working on from a photo I took) but converting it to CSS has been challenging for me and I don’t have the time to sit and troubleshoot it.
The new blogging program is Wordpress… I’ve been thinking about switching for a long time and had downloaded an older release a long time ago. But then when I decided to go for it, I downloaded the newest release and there were major issues with it: a bug where you couldn’t log in after logging out, which sorta makes it worthless, so I gave up. Now Lunarpages has Wordpress available with a one click install, so I might try again. Can’t beat “easy”. I’m just scared to convert and risk losing all our archives. I’m chicken.
This week we’ve been busy getting ready for a trip to California for An Tir West War (SCA event). And for the first time ever, we’re going without the kids. It feels weird, especially since also for the first time ever, we won’t be with our children for the 4th of July. But the opportunity was there, and we could use a break, so we are going for it. The kids will be with my sister who they adore and always have a blast with and might even get to go camping or hiking with as well!
Jack’s missed two days of work this week. He’s been nursing a toothache for a while now, but it got bad Friday and Saturday. Sunday it felt better but then it got bad again so he took yesterday off then went to the dentist today. What was supposed to be a cavity filling ended up being oral surgery because it was so bad. Poor guy. He’s in a lot of pain. I know how that feels after the fiasco last year with the abscess in my tooth. That kind of pain is just debilitating.
And lastly, here’s pictures of a quilt rack Jack restored. We just hung it last night. We found it at a garage sale for $1.00. It was painted an awful pink color and one of the end pieces was broken. Jack created another end piece out of scrap wood we had, sanded it down and re-finished it. Looks brand new! The quilt is one that his grandmother made for Cody when he was a baby.

Recover Fast Jack.
LOL…looks like Ralph is planning to have some fun!
Have a fun, safe trip. I wonder who will have more fun, the kids or the parents?
