Our good friend, Jonathan, is in Iraq and shares this thought (among many) with his friends and family via email:

“Every day spent enjoying the sunshine under an American sky is a gift from the Soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines who have given their lives for our freedom and security. This one day a year, out of them all, please remember them.”

I extend this to you and ask that you please honor his request.

Yes. It’s a day to remember those that have died defending our country from the beginning. From the Revolutionary War, to the World Wars and all the wars since.

  2. Ralph says:

To all of you Currently Serving our Country, from a Veteran,

  3. Cathy says:

Memorial day has never felt as personal as it did this year. Thank you to all those who serve, past and present, to keep our country safe. It is an extreme sacrifice to leave all you know and love behind and go fight for a strangers freedom. Thank you!

While I may be planning to leave this country in the long run, I certainly can respect the strength of character needed to throw down your life in defense of an ideal. I thank those who have fallen, those who have served, and those who still do, for allowing the environment that made me who I am today.
