Smart Kids
There’s a flash movie and sound file going around where there’s an “Internet Help Desk” phone support guy trying to help someone with their email. In the end, the helpdesk dude asks the user to put his kid on the phone. Helpdesk dude then tells the kid to fix it and next time her daddy has problems to just fix it and give her dad some kleenex for his tears. It’s cute.
It’s funny because there is a LOT of truth in that. Our (collective ‘our’) kids know more about computers than their parents.
Doubts? Casey is five years old and not out of Kindergarten yet. After watching a program on TV he walks into the computer room and asks, “mom, how do I spell PBSKIDS?” I tell him. He plops down at his dad’s desk and types in “pbskids.org” in the address bar of IE with me only telling him how to spell it, and showing him the .org part. He took the initiative and did the rest on his own. It kinda freaked me out. lol
(I have to add this disclaimer and hope it doesn’t sound defensive, hehehe. OUR, meaning mine and Jack’s kids don’t know more than US… yet. But.. that could change someday!)

hehehe before ya know it they will be thinking they can run the country and getting jobs and such Hummm?
