Netflix…
I’m pretty apalled at their price increase. I was a happy and loyal customer for the first year I was with them. I have no idea how many people total joined Netflix on my recommendations, but I know of several off the top of my head.
After my first year there, they offered me a second year of service at a discounted price. I thought that was pretty cool of them to give loyal customers incentives to stay loyal. I recommended even more people to them and have continued to sing their praises for the full two years I’ve been with them.
Now it’s time to pay for my third year. And not only are they taking away my discount, they are RAISING the price from what I paid before. Does this sound right? I don’t think it does. Shouldn’t long-term customers be treated better? Even car insurance companies lower rates after you’ve stuck with them a while! (And we all know how shady they are.)
Anyway, I just had to vent. I know several of you have joined Netflix on my recommendation and now I’m really ticked off that they are adding a $7.00 increase to our monthly subscription price!!! (That’s an $84 increase for the year!! um… ouch!) So, be warned. They obviously don’t care about their long-term customers. Jack doesn’t like it but on principle alone, I am seriously thinking about cancelling Netflix and joining the competitive programs our poor competing local video stores are coming out with.

Yea I was also suprised at the increase in price. For us it was only a $3.00 raise but that’s quite a raise for a monthly subscription. I’m not sure what we’re going to do.
Yeah, the heck with that, I don’t want to encourage someone to run a monopoly that way. I’d rather go back to renting and see if Blockbuster or someone else comes up with a mail order service.
Blockbusters in our area came up with a "new pricing" scheme…look how much money you’ll save if you rent from us! All videos 3.99! Only 1 dollar to keep it longer! We thought, "Oh wow, what a great deal!" until they told us it is indeed ALL videos..for a new release, that’s great, but we like the older stuff, too and we like to let Richie choose his own which he will watch several days in a row. We took our subscription elsewhere!
I love my Netflix and I thank you for introducing me to it but the price increase will certainly encourage me to check out the competition.
