So Sore…
We spent the better part of our weekend weeding, mowing, and re-landscaping. I like how the front yard was landscaped when we moved in and we’ll keep it the way it is. The tricky part is figuring out how to prune certain things that we know nothing about, let alone what it even is.
The backyard was beautifully landscaped. An older couple lived here before us, and before that an elderly lady. Both of them had major green thumbs and were into beautiful landscaping. They sectioned off half the yard (the long half) for all the pretty plants, flowers, trees, and garden. The other half was just grass. It was perfect. For older couples. But not for kids, cats, and a dog. Within weeks after moving in, much of the pretty flowers and ferns, exotic plants, etc were trampled down.
This weekend we finished burning all of the broken tree limbs and branches from the ice storm. We ripped out what was left of the vegetable garden and the wood surrounding it. Jack and I both weeded like crazy (front and back). We removed the divider that separated the grass from the plants. We pulled out a bunch of plants we didn’t like. The plum tree in our back yard has been trying to grow new trees from old roots around it so Jack dug those out.
We are exhausted and not even half done. But we got a major start to our project. I’m thankful the weather stayed nice long enough for us to get all that accomplished.

Would have loved coming over to help since we knew you were doing it this weekend but i have come down with something, Cough and major scratchy throat Denise says i squeek alot
