Friday Five

1. Are you superstitious? Not really. About some things I guess… like, obviously not the black cat thing since I have three black cats but I wouldn’t walk under a ladder.

2. What extremes have you heard of someone going to in the name of superstition? Hmm… I don’t really know anyone *that* superstitious? I mean, I think everyone has little superstitious quirks and/or routines they like to do but nothing really stands out. If I think of one, I’ll come back and post it.

3. Believer or not, what’s your favorite superstition? Friday the 13th. It’s supposed to be a bad day but honestly, as far back as I can remember, I’ve had pretty good things happen on those days. Luck or not? Doubtful. I think I’m just more aware of things that happen on that day because it’s supposed to be a bad day.

4. Do you believe in luck? If yes, do you have a lucky number/article of clothing/ritual? Not totally. I think some people are more fortunate than others but I can’t really say that I believe “luck” or “bad luck” is really a factor. I think people pretty much choose their on destiny and sometimes good things happen, sometimes bad things happen. I feel it’s pretty random. So I guess my answer would be no. This would probably be considered “lucky” though: I’ve bought only a handful of lottery tickets in my life time. And I’ve won three times. The first was a scratch-off lottery ticket. I won $100.00. The second two were for the Oregon State Lotto. I got four numbers out of the ones they called and won $37.00 the first time and $24.00 the second. Not big bucks but considering I’ve probably bought five tickets total in my whole life, that’s pretty “lucky”. :)

5. Do you believe in astrology? Why or why not? Not 100%. I’m supposedly a Pisces but I don’t think it totally fits me. It does in some ways. My grandmother (father’s mother) was really into Astrology and had readings all the time. She took me to two of them years ago. The only thing that I really remember about it is when she told me the guy I was with at the time was not the one for me. She told me that she knew I wanted him to be, but he wasn’t my soulmate. She couldn’t have been more right. Sometimes I wonder though, if my grandmother paid her to say it, lol! He didn’t treat me very well and she knew it.

  1. Hey…Friday the 13th is actually my favorite day of the year. That’s when my mother found out she was pregnant with me. And that was after they told her she coulden’t have children. So I am quite fond of the day : )
