Jack’s tip of the day
Ok, so it was finally time to take down the christmas lights. (The ice and snow had prevented me from getting onto the roof to do it before.)
I decided that I’d roll up each string of lights and wrap them each in their own plastic grocery bag to keep them from getting tangled with each other. (There were about 20-25 strings in the almost 4,000 light display we did this year!)
I was having a little trouble working with two hands tying the bags shut and needed a third hand to push the air out of the bags before I tied the knot. I wrestled around with the bags for a little bit, then decided that if I put the bags on the hood of the car I could use my chin to push the air out of the bags just before I pulled the knot tight!
I got my first bag on the hood, pulled the knot about 80% shut, but open enough to allow air out of the bag, and very gently I pushed down on the bag with my chin… the air escaped the bag… I executed a perfect yank on the 2 “Strings” on my knot and the bag closed! ON MY BEARD! (It was even pulling some of my whiskers out!)
I stood up with this bag stuck to my face like a feral octapuss and clawed at it with my hands until I managed to yank the beast free of my face and it landed on the ground before me. A quick glance around assured me that nobody saw this attack and I went back to my christmas light cleanup.
I made the mistake of sharing this little mishap with Tracie and she demanded that I post it here… so there.. Happy? /blush
So my Tip of the Day is.. don’t use your face to hold knots tight.

LOL..you poor thing! Ask Ralph to show you the newspaper coil thing. We never had another string of tangles!
