My woodstove owns me….
So we had some wood delivered to us about a month ago. It was supposed to be split and seasoned. But it turns out most of it was green. So we called and complained and they delivered another half a cord (sp?) for free. But it’s half green too. So, don’t use “Woody’s Tree Service” because their wood sucks. It’s a pain in the butt trying to get a fire going with wet wood. Once it’s going real good it’s ok, but I am starting to get annoyed with the daily battle with the woodstove.
Tracie try this… bring in about 5 pieces of wood every day set them behind the wood holder next to the wall and dont touch them…the next morning use THOSE pieces to start yer fire they will have been sitting near to the fire for 24 hours or so and will be slightly more (seasoned) then normal (were talking makeshift kiln here without the kiln just being near the heat source SHOULD "Season" them a bit. We usually do keep the wood bin next to the wood stove stocked. When the second set of wood arrived, I wasn’t able to stack it inside the wood box for a few days because we were busy with school things and errands each night, so it got rained on a little.
