Freaky Monday!
HAPPY 14th BIRTHDAY KAYLA!!!!
We got an adorable new kitten yesterday. Our neighbors two houses down had a litter of kittens a few weeks ago, and Tracie showed me this little black one with a white face and a black moustache and said “Isn’t he cute??? Can we keep him???” then she batted those brown eyes at me and well… so now we have little Timmy. Named by Casey, who also name our other male cat “Kiki” which was the 2 year old translation for Kitty Kitty. (Timmy is the name of every imaginary friend, and stuffed animal Casey owns so it was to be expected that the new cat would have to be named Timmy too.)
Well, this morning at 6:00am little Timmy was hollering for help from some undisclosed location in our bedroom. I staggered around the room looking for where the sound was coming from and our dog Randy sniffed at the bed and dressers in an effort to confuse me and throw me off the trail.
A few minutes after I turned on the lights to try to find the cat the whole house went BLACK. We’d lost all power, and upon further inspection so had our whole block.
After starting a nice fire in the wood stove Tracie and I headed to the corner store to get a cup of coffee as we couldn’t make our own. A car had apparently hit a power line and the blackout had even hit them 3 blocks away. They had some coffee there, but since the registers weren’t working we got our coffee for free!
The power came back on about 45 minutes later and life began to return to normal. We did however make a short list of items we found ourselves lacking for such events. We’ll be picking up a battery powered radio and some more candles this weekend.

We’re not sure where Timmy was when he was hollering, but when I went in to look for him again, he skittered behind me and dove under the bed. So whatever it was he was freaking out about, he fixed it on his own. :hehe:
Well at least you can’t say nothing intereasting happens to you.
In my rush that morning I forgot to put my shoes on and wore my flip flop sandals at work all day. :crazy:
