Weekend

I had a busy weekend in which I feel like I hardly saw Jack and the kids… Saturday morning I had to work, then as soon as I was done with my shift I had to race to Portland to meet up with my mom and sister and my brother’s girlfriend to go to the 11th annual Breast Cancer Survivor’s Luncheon. I wanted to drive myself there but my mother insisted we all ride in her van.

We got there early and got a good table and enjoyed our lunch. The luncheon was held at a different place this year and I wasn’t impressed with how many techinical difficulties they had. Every single presentation had numerous glitches. Even at the end when they surround the newly diagnosed breast cancer patients to sing a song of support, the music wouldn’t play and at first they had the WRONG music. It really killed the mood this year. I understand why they moved (the luncheon had over 1000 people so they needed a bigger place) but I would definitely be looking into why everything was screwed up. It was awkward and uncomfortable. In the four years that I’ve gone to these things, I’ve never seen it ran so poorly. It ran way late so I didn’t get to spend much time with my mom afterwards like normal because I had to call my brother to come get me early so I could race home and work again. Despite all the glitches, it was still worth the effort and a good program. And it’s good to be there in support of my mother, an 18 year breast cancer survivor!

By the time I was done with work on Saturday, I was tired! Sunday I woke up and had to work again. Then take my dog to his obedience class, then come home and finally got to veg… busy busy busy!

  1. Definitely a shabby job on the media tech for that show! :(
