School??
I feel SO much better. It figures, huh? I am not sick at all anymore… oh well. At least we can look forward to our “do-over” in September!
I can’t believe school is just around the corner already. This summer has flown by with all we’ve done and got accomplished this year. Buying our first new home was the biggest accomplishment of course and also what keeps us the most busy. Especially Jack… He has become a weed fanatic. You know it’s bad when we’re standing outside a restaurant and he starts weeding their flower box… lol!
Being able to ride the bus any time we want has been fun too and kept me busy taking the kids places. It’s just so fun! I think this week we’ll ride over to our friend Sue’s house for a day visit too. I love this freedom… who needs a second car. LOL
Sometime this week we also need to register everyone for school. Can you believe Casey will start kindergarten? I can’t. He’s so excited and every day he admires his new backpack. We’ll be getting their supplies and some new clothes this week too.
AND!!!! I start my new work at home job this weekend! I passed all the tests and the interviews and got the job! I’m so excited. It’s not a glorious or glamourous job by any means but it’s not bad, either. Basically I’m an “order taker”. You know how you see infomercials on TV and they say “Call now to order… blah blah blah”. Well I’m the one who will take the calls. This will be the first time I’ve worked in over TEN years! My Watkins business is going well too.
My goal is to ease into working like this so that once all my kids are in school, I’ll hopefully be able to work more hours. We don’t *need* the extra income but it will make things easier for sure, and I don’t want to be sitting around missing my kids all day once they are all in school. I still have a few years yet to go since Cody is only 2, but I’m planning ahead. Being able to stay at home with my kids all these years has been such a blessing. It wasn’t always easy but with a lot of hard work, some set-backs, and a LOT of creativity, we’ve come a LONG way!
P.S. *waving at Carla and the gang at “As The World Turns”* lol… ![]()

Congratulations!
Bummer, Cathy…. that really stinks!
Wow Cathy, that’s really tough, and a relief that you made the cut. That’s one of the reason’s I’ve never been too keen on getting into management. They seem to be one of the first to go during the crunches
