What makes a weed a weed?

So many weeds!

Why is it that in order to get a decent flower, you have to plant it, then give it water and just the right amount of sun/shade, talk to it softly and play classical music for it and if you neglect ANY of these steps for a moment then it will wither and die, but if there’s a weed in the same soil as that gentle flower, you can stomp it, scream at it, stab it with a pitchfork, and even rototill it and it will still come back if you don’t get the LAST speck of root!

I do love the way our yard is turning out. There’s such a sense of accomplishment when you look at something that’s YOURS that you’ve cultivated and cared for.

I think our house likes us too. :)

  1. LOL about the roots! That is so very true. I know the feeling of serenity and pride associated with a yard and garden. I gaze at my gardens several times a week. I enjoy it so much I’m now putting in a garden on the side of the house with a swing so I’ll have a place to sit!
