Randy

I dawned on me this morning that I never revealed who the addition was to our family. Oops. Guess the house got me all excited. :)

I have a new man in my life! He is drop dead gorgeous! He’s tall, blonde, brown eyes, and his name is Randy. He is also a pure bred AKC Golden Retriever. I’d show you a picture but a certain someone who shall remain nameless (and is married to me) hasn’t uploaded the pictures…. yet.

He’s 10 months old as of June 30th but is HUGE, lol. We got him because I had mentioned to my mom that I wanted another golden retriever after we moved in to our house. I figured I’d get one from my aunt who breeds and raises them. Well, my aunt had one but it wasn’t one of hers that she bred. It was her neighbor’s dog. The neighbor wasn’t taking care of him properly and leaving him home alone all the time. She confronted him and he finally agreed it was best she find a home for him. She has 6 golden retrievers and didn’t really want another one but this guy was so cute and sweet that she couldn’t give him to just anyone. So that’s how we got him. It was so much of a coincidence how things worked out that we kept saying, “things happen for a reason” and “it was obviously meant to be”. ;)

He’s a wonderful “puppy”. BIG but still a puppy. He likes to chew but so far as long as he has his toys around, he sticks with them mostly. And smart! He’s *so* smart! But most goldens are which is why I love them so much. He hasn’t had one accident, is great with the kids, knows several commands already including a few we taught him. He likes to chase cats and bury his bones. Typical dog, hehe!

As soon as the nameless person I was talking about uploads the pictures, you can see what a hunk Randy is!

P.S. About his name: He came to us named “Airbud” or “Buddy”. We thought that was silly. We didn’t know what to call him, though and he was already used to “Buddy”. Melissa kept asking us why we couldn’t hame him “Brandi”. I explained that Brandi was a girl doggie and I didn’t feel it was right to name our next golden the same as her. But Melissa felt pretty strong about it. She remembers what a wonderful dog Brandi was. So she suggested “Randy”. How could we say no?

  1. The nerve of "someone" to not have already uploaded those pictures!
