“I?m not crazy
I?m just a little unwell
I know right now you can?t tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you?ll see
A different side of me
I?m not crazy
I?m just a little impaired
I know right now you don?t care
But soon enough you?re gonna think of me
And how I used to be”

I soooo have days where I feel like this. Love this song too. :) (Unwell by Matchbox Twenty)

Hot

It’s gonna be another scorcher today. :( This isn’t fun! You can’t even go outside and enjoy it because it’s just way too hot. This summer has been so dry and miserable. No rain for two months. I wanted to take the kids somewhere on the bus today but am re-thinking that. If we do go somewhere, it will be indoors with air conditioning. *sigh*

Relaxing weekend..

Had all 6 kids over for the weekend. (The oldest has been boycotting weekend visits for the last few weeks, I suspect it’s a teenager thing. It’s all about her now afterall, but in time things will change.)

We had some pretty good fun. Tracie made some Blueberry muffins for breakfast yesterday morning with Blueberries from our very own garden! (I was even able to enjoy some that didn’t taste like Dawn dish soap this time!)

The lawn continues to dictate what I will do and when. I filled three more wheelbarrows with weeds and moss and got a new weapon of mass destruction against my yard. HEDGE TRIMMERS! I clipped paths through our rock gardens and exposed rock walkways galore! We can even access a shiny new gate on the left side of our house! :) (We didn’t even KNOW there was a gate until about a week after we moved in because it was obscured by foliage.)

I’m FREE!

I had the *best* day today! I took the kids to the mall. We had breakfast there, got Melissa and Kevin a hair cut, bought Kevin, Melissa, and Casey new backpacks for school, a new watch for me, and we went to the library. That might not seem like a big deal to most people but to me it was a huge thing and I felt a sense of freedom I haven’t felt in a long time.

It was one more thing to be happy about in our new home and neighborhood. I have three bus lines within an easy walking distance I can take to go just about anywhere I want to go. And that’s exactly what I did today.

I hadn’t actually planned to do this today. I was going to check out some books online from the library (they mail them to you) but my card wouldn’t work anymore. Eventually it shut me out. I got very frustrated that I couldn’t just hop in the car and GO to the library. But then I got to thinking, I’m in a new neighborhood now where I’m actually comfortable walking around in, and would definitely feel comfortable standing at a bus stop. In the apartment we lived in for the last year and a half, there was one bus that ran near it, but I was NOT comfortable taking a walk in that neighborhood let alone stand around at a bus stop. And the house we lived in for five years before that did not have a bus route that ran anywhere near it. This neighborhood has *three* to choose from including one that will take me by Kevin and Melissa’s schools. I’m in heaven!

Who needs a second car?? Bus passes are only $24.00 a month. If I just counted gas I’ve saved money right there. Add in the extra car insurance and more than likely a car payment and it’s hard to justify *needing* another vehicle. Especially after the fun I had today. And hey, it’s even better for the environment! :)

I know it was a new thing for us and who knows, I might just change my mind in the winter. ;)

Got a TON of pictures to share. Our camera sucks though and it was hard to find ones that weren’t blurry. Oh well.. you get the idea. :)

Randy chewing on a toy. Casey and Randy napping.

Half our backyard. Randy on our covered patio

Randy trying to snag Melissa's orange. Casey in a tree in our back yard.

Casey and Sissa in the apple tree. Kids & Ralph (who's a big kid) playing Croquet in the back yard.

About half the living room (not decorated yet). Another section of the living room.

Another section of the living room and our ugly entertainment center. Kitchen and breakfast nook

Randy playing with the sprinkler. Randy still playing with sprinkler.

Zucchini from our back yard Casey and Richard opening birthday presents

Casey LIKED the cars Ralph, Denise, and Richie got him! He liked the hat Sissa gave him, too!

Look what I got! Oooh.. what's in here?

Matching Castle play sets! Richie says,

Thanks, Mom and Dad! CHEESE!

Cake time! This one Denise made. I made this one.

Didn’t we do good?

Rumor has it that it was over 100 degrees yesterday for Casey’s and Richie’s birthday party. But we had fun in spite of the heat with a BBQ and sprinkler fun. :)
