Nananananana!
After one headache of a day spent mostly on the phone… I have won a small victory. I feel very childish right now. But I feel GOOD!
So, I get a letter in the mail today from my landlord. It states that they have received and accepted my 30-day notice and that I’ll be responsible for rent and utilities till the 16th of July. That’s pretty damn messed up considering I gave them a 20-day notice as per my contract, AND a verbal notice OVER 30 days ago.
I called blood-sucking-vampire-bitch and asked her what the deal was. She went off on me about how I didn’t give sufficient notice, blah blah blah, so I calmly explained that I did and I talked to the owner last week and he said he’d be willing to work with me.
She says to me, “he told me to hold you to your contract” …
Well, my contract says a 20 day notice. Period. That’s it. I did that.
So I tell her, “well good then, it’s all settled. My contract says 20-day written notice and that’s what I gave you.”
She says, “NO, L told me to charge you through the 16th and he’s not willing to work with you on this.”
So I say, “which is it, hold me to my contract or till the 16th, what were his words?”
She said “contract” then said she wasn’t going to argue with me anymore and to talk to L. I said fine and called L… he was disgusted with her and basically said he doesn’t know what her trip is.
So I sent her an email and got this reponse. How much you wanna bet it chapped her ass to send this to me?
I spoke with L, he said he is willing to take the 20 day notice that you had originally given and hold you responsible for rent and utlilities through the 6th of July. Keys need to be turned in at TMG office by midnight on the 6th and we do have a drop box if necessary.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Thank you,

Subject: NoticeI just talked to L—– and he sounded surprised that you weren’t willing to work with me on the notice. He suggested I have a sit down meeting with you face to face to try to work this out.
So he’s not as unwilling to work with this as you led me to believe on the phone. He said he told you that you are the managers and didn’t know why you referred me to him.
At this point, S——, I really don’t know what to do. I’m extremely unhappy with the way things have worked out so far. I’m disappointed in your lack of understanding and lack of willingness to work this out. I have my contract, it says a 20 day written notice. I gave you a verbal notice AND a 20 day written notice. Why you insist on getting more money out of us is completely beyond me.

Ha! She’s such a lying and conniving BITCH! I just wanna stick my tongue out at her and go “nananananana!” …. lol. I know I sound harsh but you have NO IDEA the headaches this woman has given me in the past 2 months. For one, she’s lied on two seperate occassions. Then her trying to twist the owner’s words AFTER I had already talked to him… So for her to have to bend and say, “yeah ok you were right” feels really freaking good.
Sue me for being childish.
MINE!
So… it’s becoming more and more real!!!!!!!! …. !!!!!!!
THIS WEEKEND WE’LL BE HOME OWNERS.
The signing should take place Thursday.. and by Friday it should close.
I am in shock.. hehe We got our insurance squared away and have taken care of the few little things they want us to take care of. We have officially started packing and will do the bulk of moving small stuff this weekend.
Since it’s the end of the month there are NO moving trucks available to rent. None… not one company has one available…. so that kinda suxx0rs. But I couldn’t reserve one earlier because I wasn’t sure when we’d be signing and when we’d have the keys. But if all goes well, we’ll have them Friday…
*grins from ear to ear*
For those that have our phone number, it will stay the same. That surprised me because we’re moving across town towards Battle Ground… I’m not complaining!
Now for a rant on my current blood-sucking vampire landlords…. The jerks want us to pay our rent till the 16th of July. They claim we didn’t give notice 20 days before the end of our rental period and WA State law requires that or we’re liable to pay for 30 full days rent. That is such total BULLSHIT.
I gave her a VERBAL notice on the 3rd of June that we would be out at the end of the month and that a 20-day written notice would follow as soon as I had confirmation of the dates. I got confirmation that we *should* close by the 30 of June so to cover our butts, I gave a 20-day notice for the 5th of July. The old haggard witch at the front desk gave Jack a bunch of crap and said that they were being NICE by only charging us till the 16th. I told them my rental contract only says I have to give a 20-day notice and nowhere does it say that it has be in by a certain date. She claims the contract doesn’t matter and they go by the law.
I called the owners and told them what this management company is pulling and he said he’d talk to her. He was embarrassed. He worked with the tenants as long as they gave “reasonable” notice and never pulled this bs and wouldn’t with us if he was still managing them himself. So hopefully we don’t get jerked around on this…
BTW… we have a new member in our family.
Will post pictures later….
