Surgery
The surgery went well. The doctors and nurses were wonderful.
I learned that I need to ask for IV therapy from now on. I told the nurse that I’m hard to get IV’s into and that they usually work in my hand best. (I hate them there but it seems to be the only place they work.) So she tried in BOTH my hands and failed. Ouch. I have bruises now in both hands. She felt really bad though and said she rarely ever has problems doing IV’s. She agreed that I’m hard to get IV’s into and that I should not let regular nurses do it and just ask for IV therapy. I’m thankful for the advice. The IV therapy nurse was able to get the IV in on the inside of my forearm.
Other than that, everything seemed to go really well. I was home Thursday night, tired and groggy. I slept most of the afternoon and evening, and then most of the night.
Painwise I’m a bit surprised at how sore I am. I’m not sure what I expected though? Compared to my horrible toothache, I would say this is easy because it’s not a constant pain. Just really painful to move alot and it hurts when I stand up or sit down. Once I’m standing or sitting, it’s better though. Basically using my stomach muscles for anything hurts.
There are three small incisions and one bigger one. The big one is above my belly button. Then there’s one just under my breastline higher up my stomach. Those two are the ones that bother me. The other two incisions are off to the right of my stomach and don’t seem to bother me much at all.
I haven’t eaten much. Mostly jello and liquids. So far in that department, everything seems ok!
P.S. We found out that “Code Green” means a chemical spill. We still don’t know the details of why one was called at the hospital last week while Jack was at work. The rumor is “pepper spray”.

(((Tracie))) I was confused! I thought your oral surgery was before your gallbladder surgery. I hope you are feeling better by the hour. I’ll be thinking about you tomorrow when you go for your oral surgery.
 Glad everything is going well with the "after" part of your surgery, Tracie! Happy Mother’s Day!

I had fun this weekend. I am glad you were feeling up to some company cause I miss my Tracie Friend and her whole adorable litte…..I mean big (he he he) family.
I know you and Kevin will enjoy the movie. After that I think you and Jack should just throw in some silly ole movie, throw in some popcorn and just kick back and relax. I love you all very much.
We had a fairly quite night after they got home. I fired up the BBQ and we had some hot dogs and chips, then got the kids cleaned up and ready for bed then snuggled on the air mattress and watched almost a whole TV show. (Well at least 10 minutes of one before we crashed!)
