Busy Week

Busy week ahead of us. The surgery to have my gallbladder out is Thursday. I have to be there at 6 AM. I’m only a little nervous.

The kids have been wanting a lot of one-on-one attention lately, and the way they’ve been requesting it is to offer to take us out to movies, lol! Kayla took Jack out to see XMen2 this last weekend and Kevin wants to take me to see it tonight. They are even paying for it out of their allowance since movie money wasn’t in our budget for the month. I’ll throw in some money to help pay for popcorn tonight though. ;)

The kids’ spring pictures are today. I have the pamplet about it on my bulletin board but for some reason I wrote on my calendar that their pictures were yesterday. So we had them all dressed up yesterday only to find out it’s today. That’s ok though, it gave Jack some time to run Kevin down for a haircut yesterday. His hair wasn’t *that* bad but a nice new haircut always makes ya feel better. Kevin hates his hair to get very long. (And to him, an inch and a half is long, lol.)

Laundry has snuck up on us. In this house full of people, laundry always has a habit of piling up on us. I think it’s mine and Jack’s least favorite chore. I wish there was a laundry fairy!

The Mexican folk music continues next door. Kayla got annoyed with it this weekend and went over there to ask for them to turn it down TWICE. The first time they didn’t hear the knocking and the second time they told her (us) that they had permission from the landlords. Riiiight. We had a conversation with them (AGAIN) to explain the problem. (It’s horribly distracting and we can’t even watch a movie in peace!) They were insistant that it was ok for them to play it loud as long as it wasn’t at night. They clearly misunderstood our landlords and the management is sending them a ten day notice to comply (turn it down) or get out. I hate having to do things that drastically but I shouldn’t be forced to listen to their very crappy and annoying music every day of my life either, lol!

On a good note, we’re signing a 12 month lease here (which locks our rent price, which is nice since we’ve lived here so long without them raising it) and in return we’re going to get a new refridgerator and new stove. I’m excited. I wish we were in a position to move out sooner, but our goal was two years here before we got our house. It’s been 1.5 years so it’s really only six months beyond what our original goal was.

There’s my rambling thoughts for this Tuesday.

XXXOOO
